Surah Saba' (34): Verse 51

(Continuation of the discussion regarding the disbelievers' denial and the consequences thereof)

**[If God] had said: {He is Near}, He is near. If He does not punish immediately, nor aids the possessor of truth in the present moment, then the Day of Terror is coming, from which there is no escape. Indeed, only one who fears missing out (i.e., escaping punishment) hastens [the reckoning].**
**And His saying: {And if you could but see}—its answer is omitted, meaning: you would see something astonishing.**
**{And they will be seized from a near place}; they will not escape; rather, the seizure will occur before they are able to flee.**

**{And they will say, "We have believed in it!" But how will they attain [belief/salvation] from a distant place?}**
