Surah Saba' (Verse 7)

Contextual Ordering:

The sequence here is logical: After Allah established that the disbelievers denied the Hour and refuted them by saying, "Say: Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you" (Saba': 3), He then clarified the consequences following its arrival: the reward for the believer for their righteous deeds, and the punishment for the one striving to belie the signs through evil deeds.

Following the statement, "Say: Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you," the text contrasts the state of the believer and the disbeliever. The believer affirms what has been revealed as truth guiding them. The disbeliever claims it is falsehood.

Due to the extreme nature of their disbelief and obstinacy in nullifying the truth, they spoke in astonishment: "Shall we show you a man who informs you that when you have been completely disintegrated, you will indeed be in a new creation?" (Saba': 7). This is analogous to someone expressing incredulity by saying, "A man has come claiming the sun rises from the West," or similar impossibilities.

Verse 7:

**"Do you invent a lie against Allah, or is there madness in him? Nay, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are in severe punishment and far-straying error."**

Exegesis:

Then, the Almighty said: "Do you invent a lie against Allah, or is there madness in him? Nay, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are in severe punishment and far-straying error."
