Surah Ya-Sin (36): Verse 21

Original Text Segment:

Translation:

This [shift in argument] is exceedingly beautiful. This is because when Allah said, {Follow the Messengers}, it is as if they [the disbelievers] objected to their status as Messengers. So, the argument descended one level:

He said, "Undoubtedly, all creation in this world follows a path and seeks righteousness. When a guide appears on the path, it is obligatory to follow him. Refusing to follow is only justifiable under two conditions: either the guide demands an excessive fee, or when one lacks confidence in his guidance and knowledge of the path. However, these [Messengers] do not ask for a reward, and they are guided, knowledgeable of the straight path leading to the Truth. Even if we grant that they are not Messengers providing guidance, are they not themselves guided? Therefore, follow them."

Translation:

{And what is [the reason] that I should not worship the One Who created me, and to Him you will be returned?}
