Yā-Sīn (36): Verse 24

إني إذا لفي . . . . .

Meaning: If I were to do that (i.e., reject the message), then I would be in manifest misguidance.

The term ضلالاً مبيناً (manifest misguidance) can be interpreted in two ways:

  1. Mufa''al (like mufa''al meaning fa''īl): Meaning I would be clearly misguided. This is analogous to the usage where fa''īl means mufa''al, such as in the word أليم (painful), which means mu'lim (causing pain).
  2. Muzāhir (apparent/evident): Meaning the state of misguidance would be evident and apparent to any observer.

The first interpretation is considered the more correct one.

Then, the Almighty said:

**! 7 < { إنىءامنت بربكم فاسمعون } > 7

<**

**"Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me."**
