Tafsir of Ya seen 36:80

Surah Ya-Sin (36): Verse 80

الذي جعل لكم من الشجر الأخضر ناراً فإذا أنتم منه توقدون (He Who made for you fire out of the green tree, and behold, you kindle fire from it.)

Tafsir (Al-Razi's Perspective):

The meaning here is that man is composed of a physical body that perceives things, and within it is a life force flowing, similar to heat flowing within it.

1. Argument from the Self (Internal Existence): If you doubt the existence of heat and life within yourselves, then do not doubt the power to be resurrected.
2. Argument from Nature (External Observation): The fire existing within green wood from which water drips is even more astonishing and stranger, yet you witness it daily where you kindle your fires.
3. Argument from Creation (Greater to Lesser): If you doubt the creation of your own physical bodies, then know that the creation of the heavens and the earth is far greater than the creation of yourselves. Since Allah created the heavens and the earth, the subtlety of His statement—"He Who made for you fire out of the green tree, and behold, you kindle fire from it"—becomes clear.

Verse 81:

أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ بَلَى وَهُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ (Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth capable of creating the like of them? Yes, [He is able], and He is the All-Creator, the All-Knowing.)
