Surah Ya-Sin (36): Verse 81

Translation and Exegesis (Tafsir):

And His saying, the Exalted: {Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth capable of creating the like of them?}

• The mention of the fire within the trees (referencing the previous verse about producing fire from green wood) was presented before the mention of the greater creation (the heavens and the earth).
• This is because their denial/disbelief was explicitly focused on the revival of the living, as they said: {Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?} (Ya-Sin: 78). They did not say, "Who will gather and assemble them?"
• The fire in the trees is analogous to life (as it is a source of energy and warmth).

And His saying, the Exalted: {Yes, and He is the All-Creator} (Bala wa Huwa al-Khallāq) is an indication that He is perfect in power.

And His saying, the Exalted: {The All-Knowing} (Al-ʿAlīm) is an indication that His knowledge is comprehensive.

Then, He confirmed this explanation with His saying, the Exalted:

{His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, "Be," and it is.}
