Tafsir
Verse range: 4:111
And whoever earns a sin or an offense...
The term kasb (earning/acquisition) refers to that which brings about a benefit or averts harm. This is why the Almighty is not described by this term.
The purpose here is to encourage the sinner toward seeking forgiveness, as if God Almighty is saying: "The sin you committed, its harm does not return to Me, for I am transcendent beyond benefit and harm. Therefore, do not despair of the acceptance of your repentance and seeking forgiveness."
{And God was All-Knowing} of what was in his heart when he resolved to repent, {Wise}, for His wisdom and mercy necessitate that He pardons the one who repents.
{And whoever earns a sin or an offense, then casts it upon an innocent person, has certainly borne the burden of slander and manifest sin.} (4:112)
