Al-Ma'idah (5:10)

And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs...

Then, after that, He mentioned the warning for the disbelievers, saying: {And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs—those are the companions of the Hellfire.}

This verse is a definitive text stating that eternal dwelling [in punishment] is exclusively for the disbelievers. This is because His statement, {those are the companions of the Hellfire}, implies restriction (Hassr). The association (Musahabah) necessitates constant adherence, just as one says Aṣḥāb al-Ṣaḥrā’ (companions of the desert), meaning those who constantly abide there.

{O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when a people intended to extend their hands [to harm] you, and He restrained their hands from you. And fear Allah; and upon Allah let the believers rely.} (5:7)
