Al-Ma'idah (5:86)

And those who disbelieve and deny Our verses—those are the companions of the Hellfire.

His statement, **{Those are the companions of the Hellfire}** implies restriction (Hasr), meaning *only* those people are the companions of the Hellfire, and no others. Companionship (Musahabah) with something implies constant adherence to it, from which one is never separated. This necessitates that this permanence (of being in the Fire) is specific to the disbelievers. Therefore, this verse, based on these two points, is one of the strongest proofs that eternal dwelling in the Fire does not occur for the sinful believer (al-mu'min al-fasiq).

{O you who have believed, do not prohibit the good things which Allah has made lawful for you, but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors.}
