| Verse (21): And every soul will come...

We have previously explained that the **Driver** (*al-Sā’iq*) is the one who drives a person to the place of standing (*al-Mawqif*) and from there to their seat [in Paradise or Hell]. The **Witness** (*al-Shahīd*) is the Scribe. The Driver is necessary for both the righteous and the wicked: * As for the righteous, they will be driven to Paradise. * As for the wicked, they will be driven to the Fire, as stated by the Almighty: {And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell} (Az-Zumar: 71), and {And those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise} (Az-Zumar: 73).
