Original Text Segment:
هذه تسلية أخرى ، وذلك لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان من كرم الأخلاق ينسب نفسه إلى تقصير ، ويقول إن عدم إيمانهم لتقصيري في التبليغ / فيجتهد في الإنذار والتبليغ ، فقال تعالى : قد أتيت بما عليك ، ولا يضرك التولي عنهم ، وكفرهم ليس لتقصير منك ، فلا تحزن فإنك لست بملوم بسبب التقصير ، وإنما هم الملومون بالإعراض والعناد .
Translation:
This is another form of consolation (Tasliyah). This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), due to his noble character, would attribute their lack of faith to a shortcoming on his part in conveying the message. Thus, he would strive hard in warning and conveying the message.
Therefore, the Almighty said: "You have certainly delivered what you were commanded to deliver." Their turning away (from faith) will not harm you. Their disbelief is not due to any failing on your part. So, do not grieve, for you will not be blamed for any deficiency. Rather, they are the ones to be blamed for their turning away and obstinacy.
