Tafsir
Verse range: 53:62
This command might be general, or it might be a shift in address (Iftitāt). If it is a shift, it is as if the address is to the believers: "O believers, prostrate in gratitude for the guidance and occupy yourselves with worship."
He did not say: "Worship Allah," either because this is already known, or because true worship, in reality, belongs only to Allah. Therefore, He said: **{and worship}** (wa-'budū), meaning, perform what is commanded, and do not worship other than Allah, because that is not true worship. This interpretation aligns more strongly and completely with the command to prostrate upon reciting it than if we were to take it as a general command.
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad, the master of the Messengers and the Seal of the Prophets, and upon his family and all his companions.
