Surah Al-Qamar 54:51



ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ

And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember?

Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon): Verse 51

Original Text Segment:

ولقد أهلكنا أشياعكم . . . . . والأشياع الأشكال ، وقد ذكرنا أن هذا يدل على أن قوله : { وما أمرنا إلا واحدة } ( القمر : 50 ) تهديد بالإهلاك والثاني ظاهر . وقوله تعالى : { وكل شىء فعلوه فى الزبر } .

Translation:

And certainly, We have destroyed your likes (or your counterparts).

"Ashyā'ukum" (أشياعكم - your likes/counterparts) means those who are similar to you (in disbelief or action).
We have previously mentioned that this statement implies that the preceding verse, "And Our command is not but one, [like] a single moment" (Qur'an 50), is a threat of destruction. The second interpretation (of the threat) is clear.

And His Exalted Saying:

**"And everything they have done is recorded in the records (Zubur)."**
