ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ
And everything they did is in written records.
Tafsir
Verse range: 54:52
"...And everything they have done..."
This indicates that the matter is not limited to their immediate destruction; rather, the destruction is the swift consequence.
The deferred punishment, which is prepared for them because of what they did, is recorded for them.
"And the Zubur (writings/records)..."
This refers to the books of the scribes, concerning whom the Almighty said:
"Nay, but you deny the Recompense! And indeed, over you are appointed guardians, honorable scribes, who know what you do." (Al-Infitar: 9-11)
And the phrase "...they have done" (fa'alūhu) is an adjective describing "everything" (shay'un), and an indefinite noun can be described by a verbal sentence.
**"And every small and great thing is recorded."** (54:53)
