The Event: (30) And a Shade Extended

There are several interpretations regarding this:

The First: Extended in time, meaning it has no cessation; it is perpetual, just as the Almighty said:

{Its fruit perpetual and its shade} (Ar-Ra'd: 35), meaning likewise.

The Second: Extended in space, meaning it covers a vast area and shelters [them] from a section of Paradise.

The Third: What is meant is mambasit (spread out/unfurled), just as the Almighty said:

{And the earth We have spread out} (Al-Hijr: 19).

If it is asked: How can the second interpretation be valid? We reply: The shade can be elevated. If the sun is beneath the earth, its shadow falls into the atmosphere, causing the shadow to accumulate, thus darkening the face of the earth. If the sun is on one of its sides, near the horizon, it spreads out over the face of the earth, illuminating the atmosphere and preventing the earth's surface from heating up, making it extremely pleasant. Therefore, the saying {And a shade extended} means it is like the shade at night when the sun is directly overhead relative to the earth. In this case, the shade is not the shadow of trees, but a shade created by God Almighty.

And His saying, the Almighty:

**{And water poured forth}**
