And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
Tafsir
Verse range: 67:13
(13) And whether you conceal your speech or publicize it...
There are two interpretations regarding this verse:
The First View (Ibn Abbas): The people were speaking ill of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). When Gabriel informed him, some of them said to each other: "Conceal your speech so that the god of Muhammad does not hear it." Then Allah revealed this verse.
The Second View (General Address): This is a general address to all creation concerning all actions. It means that whatever your speech or action may be, the situation is the same regarding Allah's knowledge of it. Therefore, beware of sins in secret just as you guard against them openly, because this makes no difference to Allah's knowledge.
Just as Allah mentioned that He is Knower of the loud and the secret, He then mentioned the proof for His knowledge of these things:
< { Does He Who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted (with all things)? } >
After mentioning that He knows the loud and the secret, and what is within the chests (thoughts), He then mentioned the proof for His knowledge of these things, which is the verse: { Does He Who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted (with all things)? }
