ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."
Tafsir
Verse range: 68:32
**{Perhaps our Lord will give us better than this}** It has been recited with both the lightened form (yubdilana) and the intensified form (yubaddilana). **{Indeed, to our Lord we are desirous (or seeking)}** Meaning, we are petitioners to Him for good, hoping for His pardon. Scholars have differed regarding this statement: 1. Some said that this was a statement of their repentance. 2. Others paused concerning this, saying that this speech could also imply that they were merely expressing a desire for worldly gain.
