Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.

Original Text Analysis:
سلهم أيهم بذلك . . . . . والمعنى أيهم بذلك الحكم زعيم ، أي قائم به وبالاستدلال على سحته ، كما يقوم زعيم القوم بإصلاح أمورهم .
Translation:
Ask them: Who among them is the guarantor/leader (za'īm) concerning that [judgment/claim]?
The meaning is: Who among them is the leader/guarantor of that judgment, meaning the one who upholds it and provides the proof for its falsehood, just as the leader of a people upholds and manages their affairs.

ثم قال : ! 7 < { أم لهم شركآء فليأتوا بشركآئهم إن كانوا صادقين } . > 7 !
Translation:
Then He said:
**Or do they have partners? Let them bring forth their partners, if they are truthful.** (68:40)
