Al-Haqqah (The Inevitable Event): (22) In a lofty Garden

Then He said: {In a lofty Garden} (Fi jannatin ‘āliyah).

This means that whoever attains a {pleasing life} (fi ‘ayshatin rāḍiyah) will live a life that is pleasing to him within a lofty Garden.

If "loftiness" (‘ulū) is intended to mean loftiness in physical location, then this is achieved, as Paradise is above the heavens.

If it is objected: "Are not the stations of some people above the stations of others? Will those in the lower stations not be in the lofty Garden?"

We reply: The fact that some parts are below others does not detract from the fact that the entire Garden is lofty and above the heavens.

If "loftiness" is intended to mean loftiness in rank and honor, then this is certainly the case. If it is intended to mean that those structures (of the Garden) are high and overlooking, then this is also the case.
