[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
Tafsir
Verse range: 69:43
Translation:
**{A revelation from the Lord of the worlds.}**
Exegesis (Tafsir):
Know that this verse is analogous to His statement in Surah Ash-Shu'ara (The Poets):
{Indeed, it is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down upon your heart, that you may be one of the warners.} (Ash-Shu'ara: 192–194)
Therefore, it is the Speech of the Lord of the Worlds because it is His revelation (Tanzil). It is the word of Jibril (Gabriel) because he brought it down. And it is the word of Muhammad (peace be upon him) because he warned creation with it.
Thus, here also, after stating previously:
{Indeed, it is the word of a noble messenger} (Al-Haqqah: 40)
He followed it up by saying:
{A revelation from the Lord of the worlds}
...so that any ambiguity might be removed.
Abu as-Sammal recited it as "Tanzilan" (accusative case), meaning: It was sent down as a revelation.
Then the Almighty said:
**{If he [Muhammad] had fabricated against Us some sayings,}**
