ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ
And [recall, O Children of Israel], when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, [who were] afflicting you with the worst torment - killing your sons and keeping your women alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
Tafsir

And [recall] when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh...
Know that this verse has already been explained in Surah Al-Baqarah. The benefit of mentioning it here is that the Exalted [Allah] is the One who bestowed this great favor upon you. Therefore, how fitting is it for you to occupy yourselves with the worship of other than Allah? And Allah knows best.
{And We appointed for Moses thirty nights, and completed them with ten; so the term of your Lord was completed, forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Succeed me among my people and make things right, and do not follow the way of the corrupters."}
