Open in Qurani

Al-Jinn (72): (10) And we do not know...

There are two interpretations regarding the meaning of "we do not know":

  1. We do not know whether the purpose behind preventing eavesdropping (stolen listening) is to avert some evil intended for the people of the earth, or if it is for some goodness and benefit.
  2. We do not know whether the purpose behind sending Muhammad (peace be upon him), who has brought this prohibition on eavesdropping, is that they will disbelieve and thus be destroyed, as previous nations who disbelieved were destroyed, or if He intended for them to believe and be guided.

The Tenth Type (Issue): His saying, the Exalted:

**{And that among us are the righteous, and among us are those who are otherwise; we were sects having divergent ways.}** (72:11)
