Original Text Segment:

Translation:

(49) "Then what is wrong with them that they are turning away..."

This refers to turning away from the Reminder (al-Dhikr), which means the admonition, intending the Qur'an or any other form of counsel.

The state of "turning away" (mu'riḍīn) is in the accusative case, functioning as a circumstantial adverb (ḥāl), similar to the saying, "What is wrong with you, standing up?" (mālika qā'iman).

Then, He likens them in their aversion to the Qur'an to wild donkeys fleeing, saying:

**{ As if they were wild donkeys (or startled asses) * Fleeing from a lion (or a pursuer) }** (Qur'an 74:49-50)
