Tafsir of Al-Insan 76:17

Surah Al-Insan (The Human Being): (17) And they will be served therein cups...

The Arabs used to like putting ginger in their drinks because it imparts a certain sharpness/tingle. Since this was the case, Allah described the drink of the People of Paradise with a similar quality, and it must be that the pleasantness (of the drink) is of the highest degree.

Ibn Abbas said: Everything Allah the Exalted mentioned concerning Paradise, its likeness in this world is only in the name; and the complete explanation here is like what we mentioned concerning His saying: {Whose mixture is of Kafur (camphor)} [Quran 76:17].
