Al-Insan (The Human Being): (19) And there will circulate among them young boys...

He said: {And there will circulate among them immortal youths} (76:19).

The interpretation of these two descriptions has already preceded in Surah Al-Waqi'ah. The closest meaning is the perpetuity of their state in that form which is the most perfect for service. This implies the perpetuity of their life, their beauty, and their steadfastness in excellent and agreeable service.

Al-Farra' said: "Mukhalladun" (immortal/eternal) is said to mean "musawwarun" (adorned/encircled). Niftawayh narrated from Ibn al-A'rabi that "mukhalladun" means "muhallalun" (adorned with jewelry/embellished).

The third description is His saying, the Exalted: {When you see them, you would think them scattered pearls} (76:20).

Regarding the manner of this similitude, there are several views:

1. They are likened to scattered pearls in their beauty, the clarity of their complexions, and their dispersal in their gatherings and residences while engaged in various services. If they were in a line, they would have been likened to strung pearls. Do you not see that He, the Exalted, said: {And there will circulate among them}? When they are circulating, they must be scattered.
2. They are likened to fresh pearls when scattered from their shells, as this is the most beautiful and lustrous state.
3. The Qadi (Judge) said: This is one of the wondrous similitudes because scattered pearls are more pleasing to the eye than clustered ones, due to the light reflecting off some onto others, making them different from when they are gathered together.

Know that when the Exalted mentioned the details of the conditions of the people of Paradise, He followed it up with what indicates that there are matters there higher and greater than this mentioned measure, saying:

! 7 < { And when you look there, you will see bliss and a great dominion. } > 7 !
