Meaning: For what Day were the matters concerning them delayed? It is as if God Almighty is expressing astonishment to the servants regarding the magnification of that Day, saying: "For what Day?"

The matters postponed are: the punishment for those who denied the truth, the exaltation of those who believed in them, and the manifestation of the terrors, the gathering, the reckoning, the spreading out of the records (Dawaween), and the setting up of the scales (Mawazin) which they used to call people to believe in.
