And the mountains as stakes?

Verse range: 78:7
Surah An-Naba' (The Tidings): (7) And the mountains as pegs (or stakes).
Meaning, for the Earth, (so that) it does not shake with its inhabitants, thus completing the Earth's state as a cradle.
This is due to what has already been mentioned.
Verse 7: {And We created you in pairs (or as mates).}
And the third [point/evidence] is His saying, the Exalted: {And We created you in pairs.}
