'Abasa: (Verses 8-9) And as for him who comes to you...

Then He said: {But as for him who comes to you striving} (8:9), meaning he hurries in seeking the good, like His saying: {Hasten to the remembrance of Allah} (Al-Jumu'ah: 9).

And His saying: {And he fears} (8:9), has three interpretations:

1. He fears Allah, being apprehensive that he might neglect fulfilling his obligations.
2. He fears the disbelievers and their harm in coming to you.
3. He fears stumbling (or falling), as he was blind and had no guide.

{You are heedless of him!} (8:10)

(Then He said): {You are heedless of him!}
