Tafsir of Al-Ghashiyah 88:16

Al-Ghashiyah (The Overwhelming Event): Verse 16

{And carpets spread out.}

The Seventh Attribute:

His saying, the Exalted: {And carpets spread out} (wa zarābiyy mabthūthah).

This means rugs and thick woolen carpets.

The singular form is zarbiyyah. According to all linguists, the pronunciation of the initial letter is with a kasra (i.e., zirbiyyah).

The meaning of mabthūthah (spread out) is: laid out, unfurled, or distributed throughout the gatherings.
