[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.

Al-Ghashiyah (88): Faces on that Day will be joyful (Na'imah)

[88:8] Faces on that Day will be joyful (Na'imah)

Know that when the Almighty mentioned the warning for the disbelievers, He followed it by explaining the condition of the believers.

He first mentioned the description of the people of reward, and then the description of the Abode of Reward.

As for the description of the people of reward, it is by two things:

  1. Concerning their outward appearance: This is His saying: {Na'imah} (joyful/radiant). This means possessing delight and beauty, like His saying: {You will recognize in their faces the radiance of bliss} (Al-Mutaffifin: 24), or it means they are enjoying bliss.

[88:9] Pleased with their striving (Lisa'iha radiyah)

  1. Concerning their inward state: This is His saying, the Exalted: {Pleased with their striving} (Lisa'iha radiyah).
