Al-Ghāshiyah (The Overwhelming Event): Verse 9

لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ (Pleased with her striving/effort)

There are two interpretations regarding this phrase:

  1. First Interpretation: They praised their striving and diligence in working for Allah.
    • This is like a person who performs a deed and is rewarded with a good outcome.
    • When the good consequence becomes apparent to them, they say, "How excellent was my deed, and how rightly guided I was in what I did." Thus, they praise their own action and are pleased with it.
  1. Second Interpretation (Preferred): They are pleased with the reward for their striving in the world when they witness that reward.
    • This is preferable because the meaning is that the immense reward they witness reaches the limit of satisfaction, such that they desire nothing more than it.

As for the description of the Abode of Reward, know that Allah, the Exalted, described it with seven matters:

{فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ} (In a lofty Garden)
