Surah Al-Balad (The City) - Verse 18

( 18 ) أولئك أصحاب الميمنة
Translation:
(18) Those are the Companions of the Right Hand (Asḥāb al-Maymanah).
Original Text Segment:
وإنما ذكر ذلك لأنه تعالى بين حالهم في سورة الواقعة وأنهم { فى سدر مخضود * وطلح منضود } ( الواقعة : 29 , 28 )
Translation:
This was mentioned because the Almighty (Allah) clarified their state in Surah Al-Waqi'ah (The Event), where He said they are:
{Amidst thornless lote trees, * And layered fruit trees} (Al-Waqi'ah: 28-29).

قال صاحب ( الكشاف ) : الميمنة والمشأمة ، اليمين والشمال ، أو اليمين والشؤم ، أي الميامين على أنفسهم والمشائيم عليها .
Translation:
The author of Al-Kashshāf said: Al-Maymanah (The Right Hand) and Al-Mash'amah (The Left Hand) refer either to the right and the left, or to good fortune (Yamin) and ill fortune (Shu'm). Thus, they are those who are fortunate for themselves (Al-Mayāmīn) and those who are unfortunate for themselves (Al-Mashā'īm).

! 7 < { والذين كفروا بأاياتنا هم أصحاب المشأمة } . > 7 !

Translation:
Then the Almighty said:
! 7 < {And those who disbelieved in Our signs—they are the Companions of the Left Hand (Asḥāb al-Mash'amah)}. > 7 !
