# | الضحى : ( 9 ) فأما اليتيم فلا . . . . . # > > وقرىء فلا تكهر ، أي لا تعبس وجهك إليه ، والمعنى عامله بمثل ما ~~عاملتك به ، ونظيره من وجه : { وأحسن كما أحسن الله إليك } ( القصص : 77 ) ~~ومنه قوله عليه السلام : ( الله الله فيمن ليس له إلا الله ) وروي : أنها ~~نزلت حين صاح النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على ولد خديجة ومنه حديث موسى عليه ~~السلام حين : ( قال : إلهي بم نلت ما نلت ؟ قال : أتذكر حين هربت منك ~~السخلة ، فلما قدرت عليها قلت : أتعبت نفسك ثم حملتها ، فلهذا السبب جعلتك ~~وليا على الخلق ، فلما نال موسى عليه السلام النبوة بالإحسان إلى الشاة ~~فكيف بالإحسان إلى اليتيم ، وإذا كان هذا العتاب بمجرد الصياح أو العبوسية ~~في الوجه ، فكيف إذا أذله أو أكل ماله ، عن أنس عن النبي عليه الصلاة ~~والسلام : ( إذا بكى اليتيم وقعت دموعه في كف الرحمن ، ويقول تعالى : من ~~أبكى هذا اليتيم الذي واريت والده التراب ، من أسكته فله الجنة ) . # ! 7 < { وأما السآئل فلا تنهر } . > 7 ! # ثم قال تعالى : { وأما السائل فلا تنهر } < <

Translation and Exegesis (Based on Al-Razi's Style):

**[As for the orphan, then do not]**

It is read: "Fa-lā takhar" (فلا تكهر), meaning: Do not frown or show displeasure upon his face toward him. The general meaning is: Treat him as I have treated you.

A parallel concept is found in the verse: {And do good, just as Allah has done good to you} (Al-Qasas: 77).

This is supported by the Prophet's saying: "Fear Allah concerning those who have none but Allah (i.e., the vulnerable)." It is narrated that this verse was revealed when the Prophet (PBUH) raised his voice at one of Khadijah's children.

Furthermore, there is the narration concerning the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him): When he asked, "My Lord, by what means did you attain what you attained?" Allah replied, "Do you remember when the lamb ran away from you? When you finally caught it, you said, 'You have tired yourself out,' and then you carried it. For this reason, I made you a guardian over creation."

If the attainment of prophethood by Moses was due to his kindness to a sheep, how much more so is kindness due to the orphan! If this reprimand is issued merely for shouting or frowning, what then if one humiliates the orphan or consumes his wealth?

It is narrated from Anas, from the Prophet (PBUH): "When the orphan weeps, his tears fall into the palm of the Most Merciful, and the Exalted says: 'Who has made this orphan weep, whose father I have laid in the dust? Whoever silences him, for him is Paradise.'"

**[But as for the beggar, do not repel him]**

Then the Exalted says: {And as for the one who asks, do not repel him} (Wa ammā as-sā'ila fa-lā tanhar).
