ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ

And to your Lord direct [your] longing.

Tafsir of: (8) "And to your Lord direct your desire (or turn your longing)."

There are two interpretations regarding this verse:

  1. First Interpretation: Make your desire exclusively directed toward Him, and ask only for His bounty, placing your trust in Him.
  1. Second Interpretation: Direct your desire to your Lord concerning everything you seek, whether it pertains to religion, worldly matters, or victory over enemies.

It has also been recited as Farghib (فَرغِّب), meaning: Encourage the people to seek what is with God.
