Tafsir
Verse range: 10:102-103
{The days of those who passed away before them} The events of God Almighty regarding them. Just as it is said: "The days of the Arabs" referring to their battles.
{Then We save Our messengers} This is conjoined to an omitted statement indicated by His saying: {except the likes of the days of those who passed away before them}. It is as if it were said: "We destroy the nations, then We save Our messengers," recounting past circumstances.
{And those who believed} And those who believed along with them.
{Likewise, We save the believers} In the same manner of salvation, We save the believers among you, and We destroy the polytheists.
{A duty upon Us} This is a parenthetical clause, meaning: that salvation is a duty upon Us, truly. It has also been recited as nunajjī (with the jīm doubled).
