And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them. And indeed they are, concerning the Qur'an, in disquieting doubt.

Hud: 110

{And We certainly gave Moses...}

{But it was differed over} Some people believed in it, and some people disbelieved in it, just as there was disagreement regarding the Qur’an.

{And had it not been for a word} Meaning: The word of respite until the Day of Resurrection.

{It would have been judged between them} Between the people of Moses or your people. This is also part of the consolation [offered to the Prophet].

{And indeed, each of them—your Lord will surely pay them in full [for] their deeds. Indeed, He is, of what they do, Acquainted.}
