Tafsir
Verse range: 11:49
{That is from the news of the unseen} This is a reference to the story of Noah, peace be upon him. Its grammatical position is in the nominative case as an ibtida’ (subject), and the sentences that follow are its predicates.
It means: That story is a portion of the news of the unseen, revealed to you, which was unknown to you and your people {before this}—meaning before My revelation to you and My informing you of it, or before this knowledge which you acquired through revelation, or before this present time.
{So be patient} Be patient in conveying the message and enduring the harm of your people, just as Noah was patient. Expect for yourself and those who deny you a consequence similar to what was ordained for Noah and his people.
{Indeed, the [best] outcome} In terms of success, victory, and triumph, belongs {to the righteous}.
As for His saying: {nor your people} It means: Your people, from whom you originate—despite their multitude and abundance—if this was not their affair, and they had neither heard of it nor known it, then how could a man from among them [know it]? Just as you would say: "Neither this servant of God nor the people of his town knew this."
{And to ‘Ad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood]. O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the One who created me. Will you not then use your reason? And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals."}
