The example of Paradise, which the righteous have been promised, is [that] beneath it rivers flow. Its fruit is lasting, and its shade. That is the consequence for the righteous, and the consequence for the disbelievers is the Fire.

{The likeness of the Garden which...}
Its description, which is in the strangeness of a parable. Its nominative case (rafʿ) is due to it being an ibtidaʾ (subject), and the predicate (khabar) is omitted according to the school of Sibawayh; meaning: "Among what we have narrated to you is the likeness of the Garden."
Others said: The predicate is {rivers flow beneath it}, just as you would say: "The description of Zayd is that he is dark-skinned."
Al-Zajjaj said: Its meaning is "The likeness of the Garden is a garden beneath which rivers flow," with the omission of the described noun (mawsuf), providing a representation of what is absent from us by means of what we witness.
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) recited it as (amthal al-jannah) in the plural, meaning its descriptions.
{Its fruit is everlasting} Like His saying: {Neither cut off nor forbidden} (Al-Waqiʿah: 33).
{And its shade} Is everlasting, not abrogated, unlike the shade in this world which is abrogated by the sun.
{And those to whom We have given the Book rejoice at what has been revealed to you, but among the factions are those who deny part of it. Say, "I have only been commanded to worship Allah and not associate anything with Him. To Him I invite, and to Him is my return."}
