Tafsir of Ibraheem 14:19

"And it is read: (The Creator of the heavens and the earth)."

{If He wills, He can do away with you} Meaning: He is capable of annihilating mankind and creating in their place another creation, either in their likeness or different from their likeness. This is to inform them of His power to annihilate the existent and bring into being the non-existent; He is capable of a thing and the opposite of its genus.

{And that is not difficult for Allah} Meaning: Not impossible. Rather, it is easy and simple for Him, because He is essentially Powerful. He has no specific limitation to one object of power over another. Thus, when the motive for a thing is pure for Him and the deterrent is absent, it comes into being without delay—like the movement of your finger when a motive calls you to it and no deterrent obstructs it.

These verses are an explanation of how far they have gone in misguidance and the magnitude of their error in disbelieving in Allah, given the clarity of His signs that bear witness to Him, indicate His dazzling power and profound wisdom, and prove that He is the One worthy of being worshipped, whose punishment is to be feared, and whose reward is to be hoped for in the Abode of Recompense.

{And they will all appear before Allah, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us against the punishment of Allah at all?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient; we have no place of escape."}
