Tafsir
Verse range: 15:10-11
{فِي شِيَعِ الْأَوَّلِينَ} In their sects and factions. Al-Shi'ah (the sect) refers to a group that agrees upon a specific doctrine or path. The meaning of "We sent him among them" is: We appointed him as a messenger among them.
{وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم} This is a narration of a past state. This is because the particle mā (ما) does not enter upon a present-tense verb (muḍāriʿ) unless it is in the sense of the present, nor does it enter upon a past-tense verb unless it is close to the present.
{كَذَلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ * لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ}
