Verse range: 16:123
{Then We revealed to you}
In this "then" (thumma) lies the glorification of the status of the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and the exaltation of his position. It signals that the most noble honor bestowed upon the Friend of Allah, Abraham, and the greatest blessing granted to him, was that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—followed his creed. This is because the particle "then" indicates that this attribute is far removed in rank from all other attributes with which Allah praised him.
