Al-Isra: 30

"Indeed, your Lord extends..."

Then, He consoled the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) regarding the poverty that was burdening him, by explaining that this is not due to any insignificance you hold in His sight, nor is it out of stinginess toward you. Rather, it is because His will in extending provisions or restricting them follows [the dictates of] wisdom and benefit.

It is also possible that He intends that extension and restriction are matters belonging solely to Allah, in whose hand are the treasuries; as for the servants, they must practice moderation.

It is further possible that He (Mighty and Majestic is He) extends or restricts for His servants by observing the middle path between the two states: He does not grant the one to whom He extends the entirety of his desires, nor does He subject the one from whom He restricts to the extremity of his dislike. Therefore, follow His practice.

"And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin."
