Al-Isra: 35

"And fulfill the measure when you measure..."

It is read as bil-qustās (with the damma) and bil-qistās (with the kasra). It refers to the qarasṭūn (steelyard balance). It is also said: it refers to every scale, whether small or large, used for weighing dirhams or other things.

"...and is best in outcome."

It means the best in consequence. It is a tafʿīl form derived from āla (to return), meaning that which a matter returns to.

Al-Isra: 36

"And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart—about all of these [one] will be questioned."
