Al-Isra: 52

"The day He calls you, and you will respond..."

Both the "call" and the "response" are metaphorical. The meaning is: The day He resurrects you, and you will rise, obedient and submissive, unable to refuse.

His saying, "with His praise," is a state (ḥāl) describing them—meaning, "while you are praising." This is an exaggeration regarding their submission to the resurrection. It is like saying to someone you command to do something difficult, which they resist and refuse: "You will ride it while you are praising and thankful." It means you will be forced and compelled to do it, to the point that you become as compliant as one who is willing, eager, and grateful for it.

Sa‘īd ibn Jubayr said: "They will shake the dust from their heads and say: 'Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise.'"

"...and you will think..." Meaning: You will witness the terror, and at that moment, you will perceive the duration of your stay in the world as short, calculating it to be a day or part of a day.

Qatādah said: "The world will seem insignificant to them once they witness the Hereafter."

"And tell My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan induces [discord] among them. Indeed, Satan is ever, to mankind, a clear enemy. Your Lord is most knowing of you. If He wills, He will have mercy upon you; or if He wills, He will punish you. And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], over them as a manager."
