ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ
Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth, is [the one] Able to create the likes of them? And He has appointed for them a term, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers refuse [anything] except disbelief.
Tafsir

[Question]: Upon what is the phrase "and He appointed for them a term" (wa-ja‘ala lahum ajalan) conjoined?
[Answer]: It is conjoined to the phrase "Have they not seen" (awalam yaraw). The meaning is: They have known, by the evidence of reason, that He who is capable of creating the heavens and the earth is capable of creating the likes of them among mankind, for they are not more difficult to create than them, as He said: "Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven?"
"And He appointed for them a term in which there is no doubt"—which is death or the Resurrection. Yet, despite the clarity of the evidence, they refused [to believe] out of sheer denial.
{ Say, "If you possessed the storehouses of the mercy of my Lord, then you would withhold them out of fear of spending, for man is ever stingy." }
