Al-Kahf: 100

{And We presented Hell} We brought it out and displayed it to them, so they saw it and witnessed it.

{...from My remembrance} From My signs, which one looks at and is thereby reminded of My greatness; or from the Qur’an, contemplating its meanings and gaining insight from it. It is similar to the verse: {Deaf, dumb, and blind} (Al-Baqarah: 17-18).

{...and they were unable to hear} Meaning they were deaf to it. This is more emphatic than simply saying they were deaf, for a deaf person might still be able to hear if shouted at, whereas these people are as if their hearing has been completely sealed, leaving them with no capacity to hear.

Al-Kahf: 102

{Then do those who disbelieve think that they can take My servants instead of Me as allies? Indeed, We have prepared Hell for the disbelievers as a lodging.}
