Tafsir
Verse range: 18:27
"And recite what has been revealed to you..."
They used to say to him: "Bring a Quran other than this, or change it." So it was said to him: "And recite what has been revealed to you" from the Quran, and do not listen to their delirious demands for alteration.
"There is no changer of His words" Meaning: No one has the power to alter or change them. Only He alone has the power to do so, as in: "And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse..." (An-Nahl: 101).
"And you will never find any refuge besides Him" Meaning: No shelter to which you might turn if you were to contemplate such a thing.
"And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect."
