Verse range: 19:27
"The Fariy (fabrication/unprecedented act):" It means something novel and extraordinary. It is derived from fariy al-jild (cutting/shaping leather).
"Then she brought him to her people..."
"O sister of Aaron:"
Historical Account: It is said that Joseph the Carpenter took Mary and her son to a cave, where they remained for forty days until she recovered from her postpartum state. Then she came carrying him, and Jesus spoke to her on the way, saying: "O mother, rejoice, for I am the servant of Allah and His Messiah." When she entered with him to her people—who were a righteous household—they wept and said that [accusation]. It is also said that they intended to stone her until Jesus (peace be upon him) spoke, at which point they left her.
"Then she pointed to him. They said: 'How can we speak to one who is a child in the cradle?'"
