Tafsir of Maryam 19:36

{And indeed Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path.}

[And indeed (wa-inna) Allah is my Lord...]

• The Medinans and Abu ‘Amr read it with a fatha on the alif (anna). Its meaning is: "And because He is my Lord and your Lord, worship Him," similar to His saying: {And that (wa-anna) the mosques are for Allah, so do not call upon anyone with Allah} (Al-Jinn: 18).
• ‘Asim and Abu ‘Ubaydah read it with a kasra (inna) as an initial clause.
• In the codex of Ubayy, it is written as {inna Allah} with a kasra and without the waw.
• Another reading is {bi-anna Allah} (by/because of the fact that Allah is my Lord), meaning: "Because of that, worship Him."

{Then the factions differed from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved from the witnessing of a Great Day.}
