Tafsir of Maryam 19:52

"And We called him from the side..."

"Of the right [al-ayman]:" Meaning, from its right direction. Or, it is an adjective for the Mount [al-Tur], or for the "side" [al-janib].

He likened this to someone being brought near by a great ruler for a private audience, as He spoke to him without the mediation of an angel.

It is narrated from Abu al-Aliyah that He brought him so close that he heard the scratching of the pen with which the Torah was written.

"And We bestowed upon him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron, a prophet."
